Nerves Are Just Energy

F*ck the script.

I used to plan out everything. What I was going to say. When I was going to say it. How I was going to respond depending on if they responded with x, y or z. I had it all planned out. I was the queen of note taking, agendas and outlines.

For this mastermind, I’m not planning anything. Is it giving me some nerves, yes, old habits die hard after all. But I’m sticking to it because this isn’t a course or a class.

It’s a moment to moment initiation into what is true for you and for our collective.

It’s a call into presence with yourself and your body.

And planning doesn’t work for that.

How am I doing this without losing my shit?

Because I trust myself.

I trust the parts of me that really want to write a syllabus are actually just protecting me from threats that don’t exist.

The CEO and VPs of Amazon won’t be drilling me during this meeting.

I don’t have to be perfect even tho that’s what I was taught.

NERVES ARE JUST ENERGY.

If you feel nervous showing up for meetings, presentations, or in general, have you even considered training your brain to code nerves as excitement? They fire from the same part of our brain. It’s up to us to interpret Them in a way that’s most supportive.

There is no such thing as fearless. If you dont have any fears, you aren’t playing big enough. Fear is evidence that you’re alive and that you’re moving in the direction of your dreams. If you have consistent fear in your life, that means you are truly living.

I embrace my fears every morning when I wake up. I welcome them to the table. This looks like writing lists of gratitudes, fears, and future celebrations as if what I’m fearing has already happened and I survived.

Just 10 mins a day of seeing all my fears on paper like this loosens the grip they have over my day and really grounds me.

I invite you to try and let me know how it goes.

With love,

Sara
