Do you feel?

Instead of asking “how do you feel”, the question is “do you feel?”

We have literally been trained against feeling our feels.

Notice the part of you that’s like “it’s too much. I can’t go there” and ask it to step aside. Find the yes in the no. Flirt with the edge.

Let your inner child show you how it’s done. Temper tantrum in the candy aisle style.

Of course it’s awkward, we haven’t allowed ourselves to go there.

Now invite the side of you that’s been tamed...that’s been keep small...

- Who was taught to shy away from the dark emotions?

- Who was taught you always have to stay positive?

- Who was told to keep a smile on when they hurt inside?

- Who was taught to not show your weaknesses because they can be used against you?

What does this part of you have to say?

Permission to rage. Permission to howl. Permission to collapse to the floor screaming and kicking.

Your rage is stunning. It’s magnificent.
