🌊Are you feeling as uncomfortable as I am about the re-entry process after the pandemic? I have had the feels. Will I forget how to talk to people? How do I reintroduce the person I’ve become over the past year? What if I don’t have the same energy as I had before?
Moving through this process with self-compassion is so soooo important.
Compassion for all you’ve been through individually, compassion for all that we’ve been through as a collective, and compassion for one another.
It’s truly okay if 20 mins of social time feels absolutely draining. And it’s more than okay to honor that, to name it outloud, to excuse yourself on account of you and your needs.
Self-compassion was once a hard concept to grasp. I remember researching it and only 10% of the concept actually landed in my brain.
I’ve come to realize that we can draw compassion from our bodies and for me, that’s the most potent energy of compassion.
🧘So I invite you to practice with me for a moment.
I’m offering you a pause.
A pause to come into your body by placing a hand on your heart or your tummy. Or doing whatever you do to remember you have a body for a moment.
Tase a deep breath in and feel your body expand.
Exhale that breath and feel your body release. And again.
Whatever you’re going through right now that feels uncertain, challenging, or painful. I invite you to be aware of that and where you feel it in your body.
And then to scan your body for any part of you that you can feel a little bit of compassion for the part of you that’s hurting or feeling challenged. Take a moment to breathe into that compassion. To gently turn up the dial on compassion. With each breath feeling it expand in your body.
ðŸ’The future is uncertain and there will certainly be trying time as we navigate through. Could you imagine inviting more compassion into your life? What does that look like for you?
