Taking the scenic route to 2020. ⛅️This year I’ll be staying in the clouds instead of my head. But seriously, day dreaming is my 2020 aspiration. Instead of focusing on goals and resolutions, I aspire to spend more time dreaming of my most epic, most juiciest desires. Does coming up with a list of 10 desires overwhelm or excite you? It scared me at first. And when I heard others share their desires I was jealous. Jealousy was useful though because it was a hint that I recognized a desire of my own in someone else. Whatever you’re jealous of goes straight onto your own desire list! This year I really started to flex my desire muscle. The art of desire takes practice, especially in a world that quickly slaps our hand for appearing selfish. Think about the people in your life - your partner, your family, your friends - do you know their desires? Likely. But how much attention are you paying to your own? A desire is something that unfolds you, it’s greater than you. It’s unreasonable. It’s the thing that feels impossible. It’s different than a goal which is something that you know you can make happen if you just take the steps… a desire is WILDER. It’s important how we set ourselves up to dream up our desires. I love to dream from a state of bliss, to visualize what my life would look like if there was no shame, no judgement and no blockers from straight up euphoria. I’ve learned how better positioned I am to see clearly after activating my life force energy. Whether that’s by moving my body, dance, breath, or pleasure. When I’m embodied, I can be still with myself and then my true desires gain a voice from the crevices of the subconscious and crannies of the heart.
In 2020, I’m excited to daydream about how I can share! I desire to share all that I’ve learned with as many women as possible in an enjoyable and authentic way. Layla Martin’s year long program starts this month and alongside it I hope to spend many sessions with my head (and body) in the clouds as I create from pure pleasure.
