Don’t give in to the doomsday thought

Over the weekend I found myself texting some dear friends “I miss you so much I could cry. Life as an entrepreneur has felt tough lately and I wish I could reach out more than I have.”

I told another friend that being an entrepreneur felt too hard and I wanted to burn it all down. Go back to a steady job and back to not having to hold a business alone.

The next day I woke up and made a decision. I decided to think about what year 2023 Sara would say. The 2023 Sara who has a Fempire and whose ripple effects of grief and women’s empowerment are felt around the world. I decided to see what 2023 Sara would have to say to present moment Sara...

She said:
✨Stay with it. You’re doing great.
✨Everything’s working, especially when it feels like it’s not.

A few moments later, I received a message from someone who I met over the summer, it said:

“Sara - just a quick note to say first how lovely it was to meet you, and second how much I enjoy following your journey as a leader, teacher, mentor, facilitator, and guide. There’s such courage and authenticity, passion and power, heart and depth in what you’re doing and I’m truly a super fan”

I gushed.

And then a few moments later, a s3xuality coach who I deeply admire sent me a voice memo saying how much my grief work is needed in this world.

I gushed again.

On Sunday I spent most of the day reaching out to friends and receiving support and loving words.

I don’t really have a point here except to say, don’t give up. And don’t give in to the doomsday thoughts. Or if you indulge them, don’t let them run the show. Don’t make decisions from them.

Entrepreneurship is a more powerful guru than any teacher. If you’re in the thick of it, I see you.

Oh and go support your favorite small businesses. Show support by liking their stuff, sharing their stuff, commenting support on their stuff. It all helps. Thank you. Love you ❤
